Detailed descriptions and maps of forty of the best bicycle rides between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, from easy afternoon jaunts to multi-day tours.
Customer Review: pretty good This book contains a pretty good selection of bike rides around the front range, with detailed directions/mileage/descriptions. It offers ideas for rides not usually suggested for road riders. However, the reason that most of the rides are not normally done by a lot of road riders is that a lot of the rides suggested contain long stretches of dirt roads and, having just done one of the rides today, feel that dirt can be actually kinda scary to go down on skinny tires. The author does give some hints to riding on dirt, though. The ride descriptions often contain interesting extra information about the area. In addition to these descriptions, I also wish that the author had included some more objective information about the hardness of the rides–for example, giving hardest/average grades of climbs instead of saying ‘this climb will haunt you in your sleep for weeks to come!’ But generally, a nicely done guide for those living in the Front Range. If you live in Boulder and don’t like dirt, maybe look for another supplementary book (the really little black and white one is not bad).

Bicycling Los Angeles County: A Guide to the Great Road Bike Rides (Bicycling)
With some of the most extensive and scenic road biking in the United States, Los Angeles County riders now have an expert guide to 40 of the best road rides in their own backyard. Researched and written by world-class road biker and Asphalt editor Patrick Brady, Bicycling Los Angeles combines first-hand road research with GPS map-making technology. From the descriptive narrative and crucial at-a-glance info to the cutting-edge ride maps and elevation profiles, Brady definitively shows riders how to get there, what to expect, and how to get the most out of each ride.
Customer Review: Not great but not expensive It’s ok. Too many of the “rides” are “star home tours” or bike paths that are pretty obvious (like Santa Monica bike path) and could be found online. Also, a substantial number of the rides are on surface streets within dense parts of Los Angeles (”sights of downtown”, “Hollywood landmarks”). It lists Santa Fe Dam but neglects to mention how dangerously hot it can be for part of the year and only gives a passing “isn’t known for its crystal clear air” instead of mentioning it as a serious potential health hazard.

Bell Gel Relief Bicycle Seat Cover Customer Review: Pleases my butt First off, I put this on my girlfriend’s Gary Fisher Tarpon. It’s 3 times more comfortable as before. The gel gives very good support to the rear part of your “end” (Area closer to your tailbone). I use the Bell Contour gel seat cover but find this Bell Relief one more to be more comfortable. Unlike other reviews, I found the seat cover quite tight/stable. It has that rubber like surface on the bottom that grips on to your original seat pretty well. Given no seat cover can stay 100% without any movement at all, this one stays on your seat perfectly fine. If you feel it shifts too much, tie a knot with the two strings around the seat post for extra security. I recommend this seat cover for anyone who likes doing light trail/dirt or just road biking. Customer Review: best bike seat Bel gel releif bicycle seat has relieved problems caused by my old bicycle seat that I did not realize were being caused by it until recently. I hope to equiip any bike I get int the furure with this Bel seat. Howard
