The quality of the product seems alright but the helmet is definitely youth size(not adult size). I ordered the “meduim/large” size and it doesn’t fit well on my head.

The quality of the helmet and pads was good. But the sizing information was way off. It was supposed to be a men’s medium/large but was a youth size instead…not clear at all when I ordered. I had to send it back and took a hit on super saver shipping for the other item I ordered.

Customer support at http://www.kentbicycles.com was very helpful in sorting through which model of V-17 helmet is for children 5+ (small shell) and which is for children 8+ (medium shell). The children 5+ small one is the one reviewed here and was only available online at the time of this purchase. The model number is 97780. If you want the small one be sure it has this model number as opposed to 97778 which is the bigger one for 8+ years old.

The sound quality isn’t amazing (not sure if it’s the speakers or the male-male 1/8″ audio cord that was included, probably both), but otherwise a great helmet. They run a little small. I measured my head before ordering a small/medium, got it and had to exchange it for a large/XL. Good for the price though.

The thought of the helmet sounded very cool…yeah speakers in the head phones…its a great idea…but the speakers are not so good!..you have to turn your mp3 player up really high in order to hear it well but the sound quality will be horrible….also the velcro it has inside the helmet for cushon….it really hurts when you take the helmet off because it tends to stick to your hair….I’m going to return it if I can.

Great product. Looks good and works well! Very sturdy and easy to adjust the chin straps. Well-cushioned on the inside of the helmet. The only negative was not about the product, but about trying to find out the right size. There was no sizing chart, even though there was a link to it, I could never get to it. I crossed my fingers and got lucky.

Great fitting helmet. Comes with plenty of internal padding to custom fit your head. Strap is acceptable. Fits snug on your head, does not shift much, and is still comfortable. Good looking helmet. Have not crashed while using so I can not comment on safety. Fits better than a Giro helmet. Would definitely buy one again.

I bought this helmet to match the Razor scooter I bought at the same time. To my dismay, this v-17 youth helmet was too small for my 8 year old. Try to tell an 8 year old they can’t wear the helmet that matches both his friends and his scooter. Razor needs to rethink the sizing and make a helmet that will fit up to teen. No more jokes about my kids big head=+)

Don’t let the picture fool you…..there are no wrist pads included in this set. (which for rollerskating I feel is important protection) My daughter loves the helmet and the elbow/knee pads so we kept the set, but now I have to buy the wrist pads still Picture is deceiving!!
