Maxxis Minion DHF Downhill Mountain Bike Tire Maxxis designed the Minion DHF Downhill Mountain Bike Tire based on the burly conditions found on NORBA downhill courses. Ramped knobs provide low rolling resistance when you’re pinning it down the straights, and channeling helps you stick when you’re railing corners in the trees. Though Maxxis designed the DHF specifically as a front tire, many racers switch between using it on both wheels and pairing it with a DHR on the rear to match course conditions.

Maxxis Ardent Downhill Mountain Bike Tire The newest tire in the Maxxis MTB line is the Ardent, and it offers riders unbeatable traction with a self-adjusting tread. In its raw form the Ardent would be an aggressive rear tire, with delta-shaped center tread sections for grabbing dirt under acceleration and braking. However, the channel cuts in the center and side knobs change the simple block tread design into a grippy, toothy tire that hooks up on anything from hardpack to slickrock, while still presenting that unified delta shape that claws deep into loose and wet conditions. This is the 2.6 diameter, double-ply wire-bead version made for DH and freeride, and it comes in either triple-compound or 60a sticky rubber.

There are a few essentials to consider if you want to get the most benefit from your cycling workout. The first time I participated in a spin class, I’ll admit to being just a bit intimidated. All of my fears were unfounded though, just as soon as I embraced a few key concepts. In fact, most people I’ve talked to who didn’t enjoy the classes ultimately didn’t get the most from their workout, leading to disappointment and not trying again. Get yourself some biking shorts, or at least wear shorts with extra padding and comfort in the inner thigh area to prevent discomfort. As for water, you’ll want to be ready to consume plenty, both during and after class. 2. Remember, …
