Schwinn 12MM Cable Combo Bicycle Lock Customer Review: Magicaly resets it’s combo!
Actually thank god that bolt cutters snip through this thing because if you accidentally flick your wrist a certain way while locking this bike **the combo lock resets itself**. Which is why I’m sitting here writing this and my bike is no longer hostage at my area Whole Foods (I tried 30 minutes of “one off” number combos before running to my local hardware store, it had done this once before and I had figured out the new combo)

This lock is good for a fast run into a store, bar, etc. I would only suggest using this in a public place to deter people from stealing it. I would not use it when you cant keep an eye on the scooter. The worst part of this lock is the fact it does not protect the contents of your ice chest! Your beer will be ripped off!

This lock is great. Very affordable and durable. I like the fact that it has two keys also. That way I can have one and my boyfriend can have one so we are always able to use the bike. It is very sturdy and easy to use. We got one for our new bike also.

The item is bigger than its look. So they are quite heavy. Combined they weight over 1 lb. The lock itself weights 6 oz. The dial works but it is sort of cumbersome and takes a while to master. The wire coils naturally so it is good for hanging on bike. I suggest keeping the wire but replace the lock with one that won’t make you sweat at night in a dark corner.

When decision was made to purchases another bike I immdediately thought to purchase a lock. I had to get another bike because someone decided to help themselves to my other bike that I left on my personal patio but because it was not locked up they were able to steal it. I now keep my bike locked up very tight and other than have to untangle the cord all the time I am at peace with leaving my bike unattended. I am going to look to see if Bell also has a keyed lock because if you forget the combination you can forget getting it unlocked and I am not about to have someone try and cut it off.

This bag lasted for me less then a month before first tear on the bottom seam started showing. It couldn’t hold a 4ft cable lock and basic tire repair kit, with total weight of 1-1.5 lb, using on city streets.
The whole design of holding strap seamed to very thin type of fabric (I wouldn’t dare call it a “ballistic nylon” because of it’s thickness, otherwise it sure looks like it) is a flaw. There are no reinforcements of any sorts and all the stress from content weight is in two places: where sides seamed to the bottom, straight down from where straps is sewed to the sides.
Since it has hard plastic insert, which covers top and bottom of the bag, one would expect that it would participate in holding the bag together, but it doesn’t, it only uses to preserve the shape of the bag.
If the designers would put an reinforcement strap from side to side that runs across the bottom of the bag it would be perfect and much more durable.

I actually bought two of these locks to lock my new cherry rockers onto my porch. Sad to do this, but better safe than sorry. They are fine for this purpose and they would be fine also as bike locks. I like keys better than combinations, the cable is sturdy, the plastic covering thick (to avoid rust) and I can’t think of anything to be improved.

I bought this lock at Walmart a while ago to lock up my bike on a University campus and around. I didn’t get my bike stolen like some of the other unfortunate reviewers (probably because my bike just wasn’t worth it), but I do still have some complaints.
