Men’s Huffy Cranbrook Single-Speed Cruiser Bike- 26″ The Huffy Cranbrook bike for men brings you a classic design for a relaxed, comfortable ride. The steel frame is complemented by whitewall tires, a cruiser handlebar and front and rear steel fenders. The padded seat includes springs for extra shock absorption.
Customer Review: Huffy’s quality disappoints
My new Huffy bicycle is a real disappointment:
1. Its received condition was not good. I had to adjust and regrease all the bearings - some were too loose, some to tight, some had insufficient grease, one had grit (sand?) in bearing.
2. I had to retrue both front and rear wheels by adjusting spokes, some of which weren’t tightened in the first place.
3. The front wheel innertube failed (went flat overnight) and could not be repaired, on only the day after receiving the bike! The OEM innertubes are very poor quality in my opinion.
4. After only a couple of weeks of mild riding (I’m a 62 year old “kid”), the pedal crank has developed a clicking sound every revolution that I fear might be a broken bearing. I’ll have to disassemble the crank for the second time to fix it.
5. The front fork is misaligned, so the bike pulls to the left all the time - another disassembly and repair (bending) job, albeit not an easy one without an aligning fixture.
Huffy bikes used to be of pretty decent quality, but these coming out of China now are almost junk. I’m really disappointed in Huffy - once a trusted quality bike. Alas, no more.
P.S. - My wife has a similar women’s Huffy bike (about a year old) with much the same problems I’m having with mine. Guess I’ve learned my lesson now, after having purchased two pretty much “lemonny” bikes!
