This does defeat the purpose of having a bike to ride. Thieves are very creative, I watched a video once where the bike owner chained his bike to a street sign and the thief had loosened all the screws that held the sign to the ground, he came along after the bike owner left his bike secured to the sign, lifted the sign post out of it’s holder, the chain was pushed through the gap between the pole and the ground, thief picked up the bike and off he went, new bike in hand. I have looked at many different locks that are available and most do the basic securing of a bike. A lock can be as costly as you wish to make it, from a few dollars to over a hundred. While looking for locks I decided to look at alarms also, most cars have them why not my bike. A motion alarm will run from $15.00 to well over a hundred. This is a good idea because something that makes a lot of noise attracts a bunch of attention. Thieves do not want attention. So the noise is a deterrent. I thought that if the two w …
